Wow, don't how back "What Gives" whoever you may be...
Remember, the vast majority of our juniors did not grow up sailing, they started in high school. Alyssa did begin the training of our kids sailing Vipers, and she did a good job. We rotated about 20 kids on our one practice Viper, which means each kid only got one or two afternoons on the boat. I don't think that is going to be enough to send them to Jr. Liptons. Also, Jr. Liptons should not be the measure of a successful junior program. Our kids sail every week nine months out of the year and attend about eight weekend regattas each year in addition to racing many Fridays throughout the year.

As far as the financials, remember, each junior member is a dues paying member. Don't ever expect a junior program to make money or even break even. Clubs support the junior programs because it is the right thing to do and how we keep our sport alive.
