I am sure that the 1st three or 4 boats in each class were fine with the course because they are the ones who sail a lot, sail on weekends, travel to regattas etc. They, for the most part, will be fine regardless of the course. Also, these courses are short and designed for one-designs, not larger PHRF boats. if you were on any 30 ft boat or smaller, you can do well, but for any PHRF boat 35 ft or longer or any of the more cruising type boats, the course has an unfair bias towards the little boats that are far more maneuverable and get up to speed much quicker. It is no wonder that these larger types of boats are disappearing from the race course. Again, I am looking at the big picture, not just those few good sailors who do well regardless. This last series typically has the lowest turnout of all the Wednesday series because it gets dark much quicker and making it more difficult, in the dark, will do little to encourage more participation.

Just my 2 cents from many years of observation :)
