New Poll

First, a big thank you to GYC for going ahead and hosting the Junior Liptons in the face of very trying circumstances, knowing that many kids would be aging out this year and would never get another chance to participate. Our team isn't doing too well so far, but they have certainly enjoyed the chance to get out and race.

Now, to the point: How many here think it's appropriate for a race committee boat to fly a political campaign flag during a GYA sanctioned regatta? To be clear, this was a "green flag" boat, resposible for herding spectator boats away from the course.

To be more clear, my vote is "no". Yes, I know, First Amendment, free speech, blah, blah, blah. My response is, respect for tradition and venue, let us all come together and support yachting, particularly for the newer sailors whom we hope would carry on our sport, and not create artificial divisions while sailing, yada, yada, yada.

Flame on.
